fbsd 4.4 + eggdrop 1.6.7; error when adding a chan with fren

Hi,

I got errors when I try to add a channel with special characters in it, like thos we use in french. I tried different ways to get it working no luck yet.. I even tried older and new version.
If you can help in anyway.
I want to: channel add #montréal ...

what version tcl?

The tcl version is 8.0.5
