msg script

I have a msg script when i do "`msg Hello" it msg that chan "Hello"

But i'm trying to make it so i can do "`msg #chan Hello" how can that work. I tried couple script but the problem was when I type "`msg #chan Hello" it does "#chan Hello" any ideas?

try msg $chan hello (not #chan)
