bot listening on all ips, not just ip I bind to

I am running my bot on a debian box, no custom tcls eggdrop 1.6.15

I recently noticed this problem after something else failed to start unable to bind to a port, same port as my eggdrop but on a different ip, and after some investigation it seems my bot is binding to all ip addresses on the box, so I can actually telnet to it using any of the ips I tried it.

Now I set the my-ip line I also set the my-hostname line as well to see if it would fix and it didnt, the bot comes on irc with the correct ip mask but is listening on all ip's.

Any idea's what wrong?

managed to fix it, had ip port username etc. at top of config so easy to change and had the port set before the ip so was binding to *.
