Problem @ starting eggdrop

[17:48] Couldn't grab nearby port
while executing
"listen 5715 all "
(file "eggdrop.conf" line 78)

has anyone an idea?

Did you set my-ip or my-hostname correctly to the internal IP?

Also, either ports in that range are blocked and not up for grabs or ports in that range have been taken by other processes. Try ports in a lower or (much) higher range. Or, if all else fails, contact the sysadmin to see if some ports can not be used.
