getting all channels a user is on +usermodes

hi there!

just a simple question:

how to get all channels a certain user is on?
oh and how to get the certain users's usermodes?

Do a whois?

As for the user modes I doubt as a normal user he will be able to see other users modes, olny with some irc operator privileges, I guess.

Do the whois then get the incoming informations from the right raw you need.
311 - ident, uhost and realname
319 - channels where the user is sitting (the channels that are not hidden)
312 - server and it's description
317 - seconds idle and signon time
Also, do a forum search because there had been discussed before about the whois thing.
