why would you not want to use a module (namely stats.mod where all these commands (except for a few addional whitespaces, but you could catch them as well) are from)?

nope, stats.mod has not been developed for years, so it has little flaws which however don't disturb general usage of version 1.3.3.
Addionally I wont give it to, since its up to you to search for a download mirror.
