If you can't get a bnc or whatever, live it with the fact they can see your ip.

Then as a normal user the only way is to obtain a shell account (not free) that supports BNC's. Once that's done you can setup your flavour of bouncer (psyBNC being the better) and connect to it via your IRC client with your chosen virtual host.

is there something like a S:Line in the server config file, or auth as a oper, and try:
/sethost
and/or
/mode +h @

no there isn't, that's not quakenet

in bahamut S:lines have other meaning

I use local (LAN) irc in my office. my bot place on my ibm server using windrop1.6 running on windows XP pro and online 24 hours. and i want hide my ip when other nick on irc "whois" my bot. irc server not support nicksrv and chanserv. please help me. if can use vhost how the way ?. and where i can download vhost ?

What irc network do you use? and you can get a vhost by buying a BNC from maybe www.eushells.com or www.e-studio.dk/bnc or even join my home channel #shove on Quakenet if you use quakenet and request a bnc from me, Tosser^^ ;p

Also, if you use Quakenet, use this to auth with Q: /msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH Authname Password
Then type: //mode $me +x
That will auth you with Q and the mode +x will hide change your host to:
ident@authname.users.quakenet.org
Or join #shove @ Quakenet and request a bnc from me, Tosser^^

Else, if not using quakenet, www.eushells.com or www.e-studio.dk/bnc for a BNC, good vhosts.
