Hmm, the problem is that it worked before the update and thats with the files. I deleted the quotefile completely so the eggdrop had to make new. It does make a new db file and the error persists.

When i edit the copy of the db file it says UNIX in sthe statusbar.

I think my mate should compile the eggdrop new and then we see further.
Thanks for your help!

crichton
Statistics: Posted by crichton — Sat Jun 11, 2005 5:02 pm

In the status bar of ultra edit should be something like U-DOS, U8-DOS, DOS (or UNIX instead of DOS). ensure the file is neither U nor U8, unix or dos wont make a diffrenz, eggdrop can handle both perfectly. Use the convert functions to switch between the encodings. if that still doesnt help... dont know ^-^. At least the putserv test made sure it isnt TCLs fault .
Statistics: Posted by De Kus — Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:56 pm

the problem is neither with your eggdrop/scripts, nor with your TCL

the problem is with your editor that you used to add quotes to quote file (or any other script source file) - or possibly with your keyboard driver and regional OS settings (that are active in editor's window; they might be different in another window, say in your mIRC window where you did your successful party line tests)

the bottom line is you need to save that quote file/scripts with correct ISO 8859-1 encoding (or fix your scripts to use whatever encoding they have been saved with)
Statistics: Posted by demond — Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:44 pm

doesnt look like the cause is the script, so it must be with your eggdrop/tcl version. ircd can be excluded, since it doesnt appear with ".say". What happens if you use something like '.tcl putserv "privmsg #chan :Hallö, Umlaute müssen schön und schräg sein."' in the partyline?
Statistics: Posted by De Kus — Sat Jun 11, 2005 3:40 pm
