1. It disregards configuration regarding not removing bans, exempts and such and tends not to auto-op when the auto-op delay is disabled.

2. At times it tends to forget it is in some channels and when the user requests an op from such a channel, it says it is not on that channel, even tho it is obviously there (a -chan +chan helps, but this way the ops are lost)

3. User DCC connections are accepted and work fine, just after a little idle time (say 20 seconds) the connection is silently dropped and the bot is no longer responding trough them and they have to be re-connected. (this is on LAN connection with no firewall configured)....
...Can anyone give me any help as to where to start looking for and fixing problems?
Questions 1 & 2 both lead me to wonder if perhaps ur not mistaking exactly what each channel setting does, be sure to read .help chaninfo for more info on channel settings. Question 3 makes me wonder if anyone has ever read the documentation in the ~/docs directory prior to configuring eggdrops :wink: why don't you post your settings from your conf file, sans priv info? it would speed up discovery of your root problem :mrgreen:

Also did you uncomment any of the net-type 5 configuration settings if you are on IRCNet?

Make sure you have setup the Server configurations properly.

IE if its on IRCNet make sure its set to '1' if i remember correctly

But if its runnng on unreal or ultimate or a different hybrid make sure its set to 'net-type 5' and configure it from there.

This should fix most if not all of your problems. :wink:
# What is your network?
# 0 = EFnet
# 1 = IRCnet
# 2 = Undernet
# 3 = DALnet
# 4 = +e/+I/max-modes 20 Hybrid
# 5 = Others
set net-type 1
This is set like this. All problems remain.

Make sure you have setup the Server configurations properly.

IE if its on IRCNet make sure its set to '1' if i remember correctly

But if its runnng on unreal or ultimate or a different hybrid make sure its set to 'net-type 5' and configure it from there.

This should fix most if not all of your problems. :wink:

I think I have the latest version of the eggie.

My previous system was RedHat 8 and it had the same problems as now that I have Fedora Core 3 with eggie recompiled to work in it.

Can anyone give me any help as to where to start looking for and fixing problems?
