download and compile a more recent version. The most reliable
current version is 8.4.6 and can be downloaded from
ftp://tcl.activestate.com/pub/tcl/tcl8_4/.

My tcl version is tcl-8.4.7-2
Eggdrop version 1.6.17]

This is a Fedora Core 3 installation.
