I don't think he uses brute force, he just uses a tcl code to decipher it.

Its really possible as blowfish always encrypts a password the same way

what blowfish does the same way is using the same seed every time, because it must be able to check your password against the stored hash, and that can only be done with the same seed

this doesn't mean your friend can decipher that hash, as he can't decipher a MD5 hash, or any other strong one-way hash (and blowfish is probably one of the strongest) - that's why it's called one-way, because you can't decipher it - or if you or your friend claim that you can - I suggest you apply for a job with RSA and get a deserved 6-figures salary

the only thing your friend and every other cracker out there can do is to use brute force - in various ways, some more intelligent than the others, making clever use of dictionaries - to check a very large number of combinations of characters, using the very same blowfish algorithm eggdrop uses, against a hash that he has obtained one way or another

and since my password definitely doesn't even remotely fall within any dictionary your friend might have, he'd have a hard time cracking it - surely an impossible task for his home computer

No, he could use whatever code he was using to crack any password, as blowfish always gives the same encryption to a password

I heard someone did crack eggdrop passwords though, and he used tcl for it

the password he cracked must have been "abcd" or similar

you can't decrypt eggdrop passwords (we're not talking cracking here), it's a one-way blowfish hash

you mean decrypting passwords?
if you don't have one-way-encryption or if you want to use brute-force, it is possible
other possibility: first send the password and then encrypt it.

Well finally, i got it to work, But now, Is there any way i could make an eggdrop decrypt a password and send it in an email?

I'm working a command that works like Q's requestpassword.

/msg requestpassword

*Bot sends an email with the password in it

But to my knowledge, there is no command that does this? correct?

try to use the standard UNIX mail(1) utility (which is basically sendmail wrapper) to send mail to yourself; if this doesn't work, there is nothing you can do - complain to your admin to fix it

Fine edited, I was using different variables when i tested it thats why the global's didnt work

There are no errors when i'm testing it but the emails never arrive, When i close the mailme, does it send or what is it doing then?

There should be at least 2 errors about missing sendmail program and emailtosendtoo variables in sendemail procedure ;)
