this is a no-no with any variable, especially such an all-important setting. I didn't go thru your conf line by line, but this in itself tells me you haven't read the text documents included in your eggdrop in the /doc directory, which explain each and every variable in detail, as does the original conf file that comes with eggdrop.... But I digress, this is not even the cause of your distress (today)...
