The join/part flood detection requires a combination of joins and parts (or kicks) to be triggered. If it's set to say 6:20, then 6 joins AND 6 parts/kicks are needed within a period of 20 seconds to be triggered. Quits are not counted at all unless the undocumented detectquits is on (not recommended).

It's possible the network was lagged during the splitting, and your bot received a burst of data from the server which included the required number of joins and parts.
Statistics: Posted by slennox — Mon Jan 14, 2002 5:19 pm

Hi,
in my chan(>200 Users) there are many Users with dialin/dialup hosts. The Problem is that after Server rejoin many users from this host mass join the Chan and sentinel recognizes a mass join from this host and either if wideban is on bans the whole dialin range or if wideban is off try to kickban every single user out. There is no way to prevent this on server rejoin? I used defense.tcl before, but this doesnt really works with the newest eggdrops version. tnx
Statistics: Posted by tR — Mon Jan 14, 2002 5:39 am
