Problem solved. When in doubt ask the shell owners, they know the right port ranges and the ones that are not being used.

1. make sure you have the correct host added in your userfile, with telnet as ident.
2. telnet

well thats obvious that it is not the bots fault... just seems funny that no one has run across this problem before...

Just doesn't seem to be worth the effort to figure this out.... thanks for all the help from ya'll.... won't ask again...

It's not your bot that's the problem, seems to me it's your ISP's firewalling.

I tried the bots nick that icq provides...no workie either.... and i tried every combination of it that you could think of....

This is the best bot i have built yet.... does everything it is supposed to according to the users and the masters i have assigned....just i (the owner cannot get in)... so i guess i dump it and try over again... sigh...

one day maybe i will get an isp that will let me dcc chat...what a pain...
oh by the way..i even tried a chat.tcl.... not to fret...it didn't work either...

Well this is not going to be another cannot DCC with Bot cause i know my ISP has a port block on port 25. Problem is with Telnet. I have tried every host that is possible...and i know the command is :

telnet host:port

Can anyone tell me which host name I am supposed to use??? The bots ip, my ip, a vhost ip.... I am at my wits end here. Maybe i am using the wrong format of the host when i am putting it in. I am using icq and funny thing is if i put in telnet irc.icq.com:(my port) it searches an ip and of course comes up no connection. If i just put in my port it searches another ip and comes up short.... lol... i have tried everything...

You should use bot ip.

Btw prefix is telnet host port (no : there)

Try the ip of the vhost the bot is using and the port it's listening on
