As gb pointed out to you, this is an old gripe with an easy solution. I am clueless as to why these 2 variables couldn't be coded into simple variables in the conf file, possibly in the Botnet/DCC/Telnet settings, with a big ol' fattie disclaimer announcing "All linked bots must be set the exact same for this nifty deal to work right"...... ?

when you do a:

.+user 12letter

it stores a first9letters

and undernet allows 12

so when ya do a .whois 12letter gives a 'not found'

It seems 17rc1 has a 9 limit on undernet nicks, with type set to 2

Or am I doing something drasticly wrong? Is another setting besides type 2 needed?
