Getting Eggdrop to login to irc server with global password

Hmm, I'm seems it's the server, I have now tried that in several irc clients and none could connect. It's fine if I put the password in the supplied password field of those clients that have it, though.
It's a ngIRCd server btw.

When i connect to server via mirc i'm doing /server address:port password

What you do when you connect to server from mIRC? if you use /server your-server.com:server-pass, then thing above should work...

I've checked it over and over again, and checked it once more now to be completely sure.
And there's no problem logging inn on the server as a user, so that's not the problem.
I'm stumped

I have tried connecting like this:
set servers {
server:port:password
}

that one should work just fine, are you sure you entered the correct pwd.

I have an irc server with a global password, and I'm trying to get Eggdrop login with that password.
When I try ./eggdrop -mn configfile.conf I get Bad password.

I have tried connecting like this:
set servers {
server:port:password
}

The eggdrop version is 1.4.5, I gave up on 1.6.16 since I couldn't get it to include the modules.
