Hey great! Thanks!, but I'm still faced with removing the old dylan_bax and replacing with dylan_baxter. Unfortunately, I still cannot work with the dylan_baxter user, even though that user really doesn't exist...
I dont want to lock myself out obviously and I'd like to avoid a reinstall...any tricks or recommendations?

Sorry to need such a hand-holding here, I'm new to eggdrop...

Greetings,

I searched the other resources for a lead on this one, but it's tough to find the right words to describe the situation. I'll try here:
I'm running a community site with a Java IRC client that autologs people in with their username. My username happens to be dylan_baxter so when I set up my eggdrop, I entered that. I didn't realize at the time that eggdrop would leave out the last letters because of a 9 character limit. Now I auto-login from my site as dylan_baxter but the master login for eggdrop is dylan_bax. I dont have any privileges on the channel so I'm guessing that dylan_baxter != dylan_bax.
I have thought about just creating a new eggdrop user called dylan_baxter via a telnet session and giving that username +m but this is what I get:

.+user dylan_baxter
Someone already exists by that name.
.-user dylan_baxter
No such user!

I'm taking suggestions for a work-around if anyone has them.
