DNS-error when starting up my eggdrop

I would if only I could. I am running (or at least trying to run) my eggdrop from a shell-account, not from a Linux-box. Hmm...

DNS-error when starting up my eggdrop

When I try to start my eggdrop, I get the following message:
[21:08] * Hostname self-lookup failed. Please set 'my-ip' in the config file.

I have checked, and I am sure that I have set both 'my-ip' and 'my-hostname' in the config-file. I have even tried to change to several other vhosts. Why does this happen?
