Can't connect to eggdrop!

Does anyone know if this is happening with version 1.6.16 also?

1.6.16 is a release candidate and may, or may not, have some minor 'bugs'. I have recently compiled three 1.6.16 eggies and linked them to fourteen other bots via a botnet and have yet to see any problems re dcc or telnet .

Next time it happends I'll try deleting the user file also. Thanks. Also if that works I'll imediately upload a saved userfile so I don't have to re-add users and see if it still works. I think the same...there are so many people having problems with this that it must be a bug in version 1.6.15. You can only add your ident or make sure you conf file is correct so many times before realizing...hey its not me ... this thing is buggy.

I have had the very same problem in my eggdrop's when I first started using them. It looks like this is a bug in the eggdrop core. I don't actually know why this is happening, but if I deleted the user-file, and restarted the eggdrop with -m command specified, it worked again. Of course I had to add all the users again.

It seems to me that the eggdrop is f*@!ing up while saving the userfile the first couple of times.

It could maybe be a little help to use .save and .chansave in the partyline, but I can't guarantee that this will work. Also you may try to connect several bots in a botnet, and see if the bots will update each others userfiles, so that everything will work properly.

I bet you I have read 100 posts tonight about this same problem and haven't found a solution. The closest I have come to a solution was someone saying "I fixed it". I'll keep reading but...but not tonight.

Its doing the same thing again. It worked fine after re-install of eggdrop and now the same problem. I can launch and kill it but i cannot connect to it thru irc dcc or telnet. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

Thanks. Everything was working fine... I changed nothing and all of a sudden i couldn't log on thru irc or putty. Ident was ok. Anyways I decided just to uninstall and re-install the eggdrop since i had my conf. file backed up anyways. It works fine once again.

All was fine, I was able to connect via irc or telnet to eggdrop then all of a sudden i cannot connect either way. Eggdrop connects to irc and i can shut it down or run it through my bnc but i can't dcc or telnet to it. I know this isn't a lot of info but thats all i seem to have.
