here's a lil' constructive advice:<br><br>1) when you launch a bot from the shell, you are launching it "into the background". Hi there<br><br>I need some help guys  And YES I have done ".help all" And READ through reams and reams of files from slennox's site,  but my bot is sulking for some reason its up but wont join my channel in IRC.<br><br>It compiled ok and I have telneted into it ok, it shows its on my chosen server when I do ".server" but when I do ".status" the bot id's itself to me being in the "background".<br><br>My bots config file has the "add channel #XXXXX {  } " line in it and still no joy. when i do "+chan #XXXX" all seems ok then i do ".chansave it tells me its writing channel file, but when i try to get the info via ".chaninfo" i get the message "your channel console is invalid" any ideas on what im missing out or doing wrong here.<br><br>I also did ".botinfo" and I get the bots name the version of eggdrop it was compiled with "unknown net" and "no channels" so how the F**K do I get it to join a chosen channel when I have been trying like mad everything its shows to get it on an irc channel ?<br><br>Any CONSRUCTIVE advice would be most greatfully received.<br><br>Thank you inadvance<br><br>Mark<br><br>As a update to all out there "I WAS BEING STUPID" its fixed and you know what I DID wrong ?<br><br>when i did "+chan #XXXXX" thats EXACTLY what i did NOT <br>               ".+chan #XXXXX" i missed out the  "  .
