Bah.

I'm an idiot. I got it working, I finally realized my MySQL row for the nicks was set on varchar(255), which obviously wouldn't contain the amount of info it needed.

::http::formatQuery key value ...

So maybe something like:

set http_string [::http::formatQuery do refresh chan $chan key $key online $num_users ops $ops voiced $voiced normal $normal]

and avoid of the special_chars bit. It should take care of all the required substitution.

If this *still* fails, you should use a tool like strace to see what eggdrop actually writes to the web server socket. It should be pretty obvious since it'll be like write(23, "POST /script", 10) etc.

Also, have you put logging into the php script to see exactly what it gets as the value of those variables?

You might need to regsub all spaces with %20 or + ...

I can't figure it out.

I know it's not the PHP script, as that's set perfectly.

Even if I strip special characters, it doesn't work.

There is just something up with the http. Maybe there is an optional flag I can use. Or, maybe it simply can't send that much data.

The "-query" flag on the http::geturl means it's data being sent by type POST.

Even so, it doesn't seem to be sending all the data.

When I get the chance, I think what needs to be done is using regsub and some expression to exchange all the special characters into HTML codes.

Well if you are using the GET query, the amount of data you can pass is severely limited: 256 bytes I believe. You should use POST instead, and put the user information in the post body.

I created a simple script for my bot that fetches the users in the channel, sends the information via ::http:: to a PHP script on my server, and from there the info is stored in my MySQL database.

The problem I have is that the data isn't being sent completely.

If I'm in a channel with about 40 people or so, I can expect it all to be sent (and my MySQL table reflects on it).

If I'm in a channel with 1000 users, maybe only 75 of them are actually sent via the ::http:: Thus to say, bytes are being stopped short of sending.

I'm sure TCL socket commands are more powerful and aren't as limited as this. I was expecting it to send all the users, not just a small amount.

Here are the two lines of code I use:

My possible thought is that some of the nicks contain special characters not suitable for passing in http.

I'm new to TCL, so I'm not sure of the code to use to strip the codes.
