Process on continuess repeat say every 5mins until trigger

What i need is a script that ill start with a trigger.
This will start to query games servre and report back what its given. I use qstat for that.
I want it to do this every few mins until i do a trigger that stops it again.

like !warstart

bot querys server and announces to chan players nicks and scores (qstat takes care of that)
but I want it to repeat say every 2 mins

!warend
bot stops querying server and announcing.

in tcl archive there is a script abc (auto botnick changer) that keep the procces going when chatters are talking when x min nobody is talking in chan there will be called another proc. may be some editing for your needs ??

I have no idea where to look for this stuff so any and all help appreciated.
I am not asking for someone to write the script for me (though feel free if your feeling generous) I will gladly learn how to do it myself if someone points me in the correct direction.
