Just kidding. "Ja mata" means Good bye in the Japanese language.

You know, long ago when I started with eggdrops.. like 5 yrs ago? I don't really remember when. heh.. I always used to wonder as to what the [censored] does this ja mata mean.. because, where I come from (India) there is a word in the Hindu religion that means "Hail Mother" but the phrase is "Jai mata".. so you see the 'i' is not in the "Ja mata" that eggdrop says. So I used to think it's either a typo or some crap.

Until one day I remember asking guppy what it is, and he goes "robey or beldin, one of them was a japanese freak, and they put that phrase in there, i'm not sure which one of them though *G* "

Well, this is what I *remember* guppy saying, so gup, don't get back to me and fire me about it if you did'nt use/remember saying that.

"Ja mata!" means Good bye or something similar in a language that I'm not familiar with. You are not infected with anything, is it's normal behaviour.

Hi

I've always used Telnet to contact my eggdrops. However, having opened a port in my router, I can now DCC to them.

Every time I .quit the bot I get the message: "*** Ja mata!"

This happens with all bots. Have I been attacked / infected with something or is this normal Eggdrop DCC behaviour???

Update since writing the above: Googling on the net shows this term to be part of Eggdrop source code - is this a legitimate message then??
