BOTS just dont wanna link!!

OK finally figured out what was wrong.... when the bots lost connection what we did was delete the passwords off the bots and have them try to relink, what happened was that the friendsbot record was created twice on the userlist, so it kept having that error.

Just wanted peeps to know just incase they came accross the same situation.

I'm currently using a service like dyndns. I have to check the my-ip setting to see what effect that will have thanx

the bots need to know their ips in order to transfer a file ( just as your irc client needs to know your ip for your dcc to work).. if its dynamic and a problem.. perhaps look into one of those free services like dyndns or whatever its called

I will try setting my-ip, however as the bot's ip is dynamic it may be a problem.

Are you sure, that they are sharing user file, like they should ?

Not sure, just followed all the protocols i'm aware of.... my friends bot is set on +s (on axsbot) and mine on +p on (friendsbot) oh and also both are +u unshared.

AxS : try it with my-ip like masskilla said, and also try to disable the resync buffer (both are in eggdrop.conf)

I've been trying to link my bot with my friends for about a year now, and have found no success until yesterday. However after restarting the bot, once again we are gettting the same errors, and no matter how hard we try to replicate the working state, it doesnt work.

On my end this is what i see...

ip and port has been dummied out now on his bot this is what i see...

no idea why its not working... so if you all know whats up please lemme know
