Try a space instead of a :, like

telnet 127.0.0.1 someport

the problem is from your connection, ur behind some firewall or something like that.

Well , when i'm trying to ctcp my eggdrop , he said that my request was rejected and when i'm lauched telnet , i open a connection here : open 127.0.0.1:port_of_my_config_file and said i got this message : hostname lookup failure . When i'm lauching my eggdrop , got the line :Listening at telnet port port_of_my_config (all) (configuration : (Eggdrop version : 1.6.15 , lauched on my own PC , and on my own Ircd)
