Allowing 10 CTCPs is a bit high. The bot may try to respond to all 10, and that alone might be the problem. Reduce it to around 5.

Disabling sl_ban on at least a few bots (if not completely) is also recommended. The less active the bots are in sending stuff to the server during a flood, the less likely they are to flood themselves off. You might need to have an unlinked, non-sharebot do the bans, so that it's not sending the bans to all the other bots which in turn may enforce them (i.e. send them to the server).

Hi,

Your settings don't seem wrong.
How many flood bots are we talking about ? 100 ? 250 ? 500 ?
If there are hundreds of bots joining all at once, then you might consider running a channel limiter to help prevent this.

One last thing, did you check if your bots are being flooded in private prior to a flood on the main channel?

its probably because there is huge ammount of bots (I mean very huge) joining your channel, and are very very fast... so the bot will do lots of commands which will lead it to quit excess flood.

or the connection, your bot's connected through is not so fast and doesn't catch the flood quickly to make action.

else I see that your settings are normal, try increasing the ban time (in minutes) make it 10-15 minutes better, because the flood may not stop withing 2 minutes or 3.

Type .sentinel on the partyline of the bot where sentinel.tcl is loaded and paste the settings here.

hello all

i am facing strange problem .. I am getting botnet floods these days & I have loaded sentinel in my eggdrop .. but it not doing much for me .. bot always disconnect with msg EXCESS FLOOD

I have tried by adjusting different settings .. but no use

can u please tell me reason ... or if possible send me ur settings

remember i am using recent versionf of sentinel
