Hi Sir_Fz,

I tried that, no go. Matter of fact, it does not like me at all where as initially it worked the first time through.

I'll try it again, but is there something I am overlooking in the conf that would cause the bot to not like my password?

later,
downsize
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Fri Jul 11, 2003 9:36 pm

fastest solution, kill the bot
remove the .user file then ./eggdrop -m conf-file.conf

and do the "/msg bot hello" all over again.
Statistics: Posted by Sir_Fz — Fri Jul 11, 2003 7:16 pm

hi all, I tried to search to find my prob. if you have a link that you could point me to in order to save time that would be great too.

I setup my bot and at first I could ctcp chat into it. I started messing around with the .commands to fix myself and my info how I wanted and read up on adding users.

I closed my conx and attempted later to ctcp chat and add some users but I just get a

'negative on that houston' when I give my pass. I have tried many different password types (all ALPHA, ALPHANUM, NUM, etc.) to no avail.

I also get strange characters which I thought I read about one time/someplace that meant I had sh$t setup wrong:
Enter your password.ÿû
In case that helps give you eggie masters any indication on what I have not setup right.

I *think* I have my .conf file setup right. Any ideas?

setup:
-NO NAT
-NO Firewall ISsues (there is a FW, but I can and could get through before, besides it should not connect if its a FW issue, I am able to connect just can't login)
-Running v1.6.15
-*nix OS

later,
downsize
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Fri Jul 11, 2003 6:51 pm
