I think i know him...
He's from Romania, and all we know is running stuff on root access.
Why? Because some people i know are hackers, and they use exploiters to get their hands on some root.
I find that very boring and very time-wastefull.
It's not very expensive a root here, only 3 $ but it's not good because once you get runing a lot of background processes, the owner notices it and modifies the root password.
I think it's better to run a psybnc on a private box or a public shell .
I think it's better for you to ask you friends about making a bnc, or mail me @ Jay-C@Galati.Astral.Ro.
I've tried myself to run a bnc on my private server, but i had some problems with my ISP that had some connection problems, but now i've talked to them about it and it works smooth, even on a low bandwith.

setting up psyBNC

Dark_Soul,

to get a bnc/ezbouncer/psyBNC running u need a shell account.

try the shell provider link on www.egghelp.org to find a good shell.

1.get psyBNC from http://www.psychoid.lam3rz.de
2. upload it 2 ur shell
3.untar it ie. $ tar zxvf psyBNC2.3.tar.gz
[ pls read the README ]
4.$ cd psybnc
5.$ make menuconfig
6.follow the menue
7.$ make
8.$ ./psybnc

Once again, old posts.

You don't need root at all to setup a BNC.

If you havn't got the access required as a normal user, it usualy means you aint suposed to be doing it.

Well that is untrue, if you are on another persons system, you might, it depends on the access

This is not a BNC help center.

We help with issues sureding eggdrop.

If you don't even know that root is somthing you don't need, then your about as far away from the answer as a english man in Aus, is away from home.

There are loads of help pages around the internet, and if you had bothered to read, there was even a post below this one, with links to some information.
