When I ran the bot the first time, i messaged it hello and set a password, it said that I am the owner. I even managed to get a quiz on it and can admin the quiz from the public channel as I should be able too.

What I cant do is initiate DCC chat or telnet into the bot, as such if my understanding is right I cant enter any of those commands starting with a .

Also as I am the owner do I automatically get the P flag? If not how do I add it to myself?

Or am i completely confusing myself? i.e. is all I need to do
/msg TricksBot .+host *!*@server.smartshells.net (or whatever . command i want to enter) ?

If you could spare the time to sort of put it into something a complete linux n00b can understand it would be really appreciated.

TricKstEr, does the bot recognize you as its owner ??
u should add your usual Host(s) into your handle (.+host *!*@your-host)

also u should have the correct flags like +n so u will be the owner
and +p for u to be able to enter the partyline.

.chattr +np (in this case the is your nick)

Hmm how do u mean the hostname must match? I own my bot but it wont let me dcc in to it, maybe I am just htick, any pointers world be appreciated.

Can only owners access the dcc chat with the bot? cause i am the only one who can. just sits at "Waiting for acknowledgement" for everyone else

To add an user see .help adduser to see what flasg are available see .help whois and to know how to set them see .help chattr.

My bot is up and running but I can not find where to add users flags.. I did .help in dcc and its not in there.. or i culdnt see it. Is there a way to add users through irc or do you have to do it manually..?
