yes, script is working fine, i was wondering if op doesn't use the bot at all and chnage the topic using mirc script or just /topic #NAME text

so then if bot can grab that topic and append the default text to it and reset it.

isnt that what the above script does ?

if you want the static text appended instead of prefixed then just change the order in the puthelp.

$topic $static

Hi, that works great, but just wondering if someone set the topic manually, instead of using the bot, then is there anyway when person will set the topic manually and bot will grab that topic and check the default text, if not then append the default text to it and set it.?

let say default text is welcome to $chan

and there shouldnt be any questionmark in the script so you must've put it there.

realz just forgot a wildcard in the match pattern

string match ?-nocase? pattern string
* Matches any sequence of characters in string, including a null string.

One more question...

(I don't know anything of TCL heh)

Is it possible so if someone updates the topic and the static part is already in place is that it wont add it again.

For example...
Op A sets topic to I am a nerd
Bot changes topic to Welcome to #win98 || I am a nerd
Op B edits the topic by adding a ! to nerd
Bot changes topic to Welcome to #win98 || Welcome to #win98 || I am a nerd!

Is it possible that the script doesn't add it again?

yes, in the bind you specify what chan its triggered in

"#yourchannel *"
