Correction! Well sort of.. all bots including leaf bots had set private-user 1 in the config. I disabled that on leaf nodes and looks like its working now. Thanks so much for your help!
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Tue May 20, 2003 10:25 am

Ok I've had this problem with my bots since the start and I just want to be sure I understand how this botnet thing works! I have a hub. I have leaf bots. I want my bots to op each other using the getops script.

Ok so when I have two bots online no problem. The hub is up, the leaf joins and gets his ops etc. However, when I add a third bot in to the scenario.. the leaf bots begin having problems with each other (de-oping each other). I followed the same exact procedure adding the third bot to the hub/botnet as I did the second. Same flags and everything. The usefile is transfered no problem. Well, the userfile MINUS the bot records. Bot records are not being shared. So whats happening is.. the leaf bots do not recognize each other as bots. Why is this? Why are user records being shared and not bot records? Must I manually add leaf bot information in to each leaf node manually? I really enjoy learning about eggdrops and botnets and plan to expand my botnet to 20 bots or more eventually. But, obviously I have a lot to learn and of course, I hope that in the future I do not have to add a single bots' records to every leaf node in my botnet.

Thanks kindly for any help
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Mon May 19, 2003 7:34 pm
