psybnc tcl problem

my opinion: if i've some eggdrop bot i wouldnt to load psybnc.tcl, why? because its just a same. if you run under windrop then you probably need to using psybnc.tcl , its just same as we use BNC on irc.

well no not really big but if i look at the start it always was about the same as my bnc connection 0.100ms now 1 sec
so its weird tho

actualy 1 second isn't considered a big lag... and for the reason u use your eggdrop, u don't need such high speed; my opinion only:P

i think the cnn is very heavy but i am not sure the cnn script isnt used that much compared to imdb and wunderground
tho its not like its constantly sending data lets say 3-4 request from imdb or wz per hour i am gonna try putting the cnn script offline see if that changes something

OK.

Logging doesn't sound too much of an issue, but you can't rule it out.

However, I would ask how much use the IMDB, Wunderground and CNN scripts get used.

These three scripts download data via sockets. This can be a resource hungry task, and may cause you bot to lag.

However, this as note,d depends on there usage.

well lets say there are about 20 users on the bot list
who only are added no telnet access
and 1 script made by a friend to log orders
then 3 regular scripts i got from here
wunderground weather script , imdb and cnn news
outside that nothing else except the standard scripts from eggdrop like alltools action

but i am gonna try unloading some see if it has a effect

He asked known user to the bot not regular users of the channel. Also, have you loaded an tcl or something lately? Try unload all the tcl's you've added yourself (if any) and see wich one dose the lag. If you are the owner of the bot and you have the .tcl dcc command enabled, you should type this in the party line and then paste here the results:

well i am no pro about this stuff
but it didnt do this some time ago
and nothing really changed
its only in 1 channel with about 40-50 users Max
i dont see any reason for this being the reason for the lag since it was always like this the lag just suddenly came and never left

Doubtful - You are not sending the connection through anytwhere else, toher that anothe program at the exact same location.

You should be looking at why teh eggdrop is lagged, rather than looking for workarounds.

What does your eggdrop do, and how many channel (and there sizes) is it in.

yes i am aware of that
well let me explain

i got 2 things on my shell
1 bnc (psybnc)
1 eggdrop

most of the time i am on the same server as the eggdrop
but for some reason lately the eggdrop is always lagged 1 second or more
it hardly ever goes under the 1 second
so i wanted to try if the lag would be less when its connected true a bnc

Can you explain a bit more, why you are trying to use psybnc.tcl?

You are aware, that you need to connect your bot to a BNC server too.

well not sure about it i am trying some stuff out since i the bot has lag and i got no lag while both on the same server
so something has to be wrong somewhere
over 2 seconds lag is just to much

but i want to ask, does connecting the bot through psybnc make it faster ???, well doesn't it make the connection have more hops... ?

ok i downloaded the psybnc.tcl in the hope to fix my lag problem i got on my eggdrop
but i cant seem to figure out how to set it up
i configured the part i needed but when i rehash nothing actually happens
anybody can explain me whaty i do wrong ?
