Socks5 is a protocol that allows a user to bounce his connection off another server. Version 5 of the protocol (is it version, or just a name) allows username and password protection of the server.

The socks protocol has nothing to do with root.

I'm trying to connect with a socks5 proxy
with username and password authentification. I look on google for some help but i didn't find how to set username and password in eggdrop conf file.
