slennox.. have you looked at the phpBB's webpage for modules? It's probably some kind of mod there which lets you enable/disable avatars according to rank

..I have not checked... just an idea

I agree. 80x80 looks a bit big even at my 1280x1024 screen resolution. I've reduced the size limit to 60x60 and resized the three avatars that were oversized. Sorry Papillon and others

I admit, I have never liked anything oversized.

80x80 seems a little too muhc (having looked up 3 posts).

Looking at yours slennox, 60x60 would seem nice - I am gonna go make some duds and look at the sizes now.

I am waitinf for my sexy new Wacom to arrive, so I can get some drawing done.

in your admin-section:
go to users and settings. there you can set for every single user whether he can use an avatar or not. just if someone is interested in.

It appears that this can only be used to disable avatars for a specific user when they're enabled in the general configuration, not enable them for a specific user when they're disabled.

Any feedback so I can make changes before they become too established? Are they too big/small (currently 80x80, 4000 bytes)?

I believe you can only assign one image to a rank, which means every revered one would have the same image.

I suppose that would've been okay yesterday, but the cat's already out the the bag now

I have never looked at phpbb, but from what I hear, you can assign avatarts to special ranks idividualy.

Yes thsi is labour intensive, but then, it's only the select few, and only needs ot be done once (My phisophy for redoing my config files, never works though)

As far as I remember there should be possible to do so. I've seen on another forum an topic that can be accessed (read and post) only by a group of users that are in a specified group list. I guess this can do the trick for the avatars thingie.. Create a usergroup and see if you can give them access to use an avatar or something like this.
