You have either started the bot using the -n option, or are running a windrop (because it didn't goto the background).

If it is a windrop, follow the instructions of http://windrop.sf.net/ - They give information regarding a file called resolve.conf, that allows names to be resolved correctly.

I have a problem connecting to the irc server. I have the nat-ip configured to my external i. 217.215.17.149 . And the my-ip and my-dns thingys in the start dissabled.
The server

STARTING BOT IN USERFILE CREATION MODE.
Telnet to the bot and enter 'NEW' as your nickname.
OR go to IRC and type: /msg Botson hello
This will make the bot recognize you as the master.

and so on.

This is some of my settings in eggdrop.conf:

set nat-ip "217.215.17.149"
set net-type 4
