I'm no expert in ipv6 either but I think your problem is that your bots have ipv6, and you have ipv4. Unless I am mistaken you cannot make a direct connection between ipv6 and ipv4... can't say for sure though ..have to start reading about ipv6 now..
As for server changing your bot's hostmask.. only a few irc-servers are supporting ipv6, check the irc server your bots are on.
Statistics: Posted by Papillon — Thu Feb 13, 2003 11:42 am

I have a problem with all of my IPv6 Bots.
I Can't ctcp chat with them or telnet to them. in putty, I get connection timeout.

When i try to dcc with the bot, I get this message:
DCC Chat session
Client: BOT (255.255.255.255)
Time: Thu Feb 13 15:56:23 2003
Acknowledging chat request...
Invalid IP address
Unable to connect
DCC session closed

Notice the 255 ip.

When I set the 'set-my-ip' from a ipv6 ip to the ip for the server, it removes the ipv6 on the host. (ipv6.something.something.com)
Why? is it trying to connect with ipv4?

I am quite new on ipv6..
Statistics: Posted by panazonic — Thu Feb 13, 2003 10:58 am
