I wouldn't call ti a hostname adapter, I would call it a a HTTP proxy, and considering it's a council site, ti may get you into trouble for using it.

I'm on a a small network not yett getting mutch people not any new visitors. He got my network of my sign.

But what i don't get that he's talking about tomany connection's from his box and on my network his talking about some hostname adapter.

IP6 based connections, are a good free(ish) start to the game.

To do normal v-hosts (inside the IPv4 namespace), you will need more IP addresses.

When you use a v-host on IRC, it must resolve from the v-host to a IP, and then the IP must resolve back to the v-host.

This means, you need one IP per unique, nameable v-host.

Unless your ISP will suppliy and route more than 1 IP to you, you are S*** out of luck. They can, and usualy will charge you for this.

You may also find you have to fill in a technical application form, detailing the use of the addresses. A lot of ISP's may decilne you the IP's if you are attempting to sell shells, or even give away shells on a residential connection.

No way any server is gonna give you 30 connection's just because
you give away free shells.

You could try ipv6 vhost if that is possible with that server/network

the irc server i use only allows 3 connections per ip is there any way i could make eggdrop come from a different ip because i have about 30 users using eggdrop and nobody can connect to the irc server ive asked the adminand she wont extend the amount of connections allowed.
also
what are virtual hosts?
