Eggdrops internal protection, is not the best thing in the world.

There are several limiting factors involved.

Bandwidth: The bot must have aconnection, that will allow it a deceint conenction to the IRC server. Without this, the data doersn't flow fast enough, for any sort of reaction to take place.

Numbers: I didn't so an official count, but that looks like 6 bots doing the takeover. On top of this, you should have a simalar amount of bots, which can react to this, and do a task.

Latency: This is the time between the data being sent to your bot, and the time it arrives. In a IRC network, this has a larger impact, when the takeover bot sends it's messages, the prcoess starts, once the first line has been procossed by it';s server. Starting a timer, you detect how long it takes to filter through the IRC network, and finaly out to your client connection. On top, high ping times can cuase this.

Basic protection: Eggdrops protection is only basic, and enough to get most started. Since the old days, the tricks used are more advanced, including having a single bot, soly to OP the attackers, and no deop an1 else. Even the most fine tuned script, can ingore this bot, thus a fresh batch of attckers are continualy being created.

My most important questions, I could possibly sk you is, "What is the setting for flood-mode?".

Most times, it will come down to this not being adiquate for anything like this.

In conclusion. You bot should be on a speedy dedicatd link, that has some form of service aggreement (this will only gives you re-assurance, and not a better botnet), you should choose it to suit fast ping times. WHen picking your server list, you should ping all of the server, when and when not connected, this will give you a better list of servers. Regardless of what any1 says, safety is in numbers. Pick sensible setting for all the flood settings, some thought should go into these, and not just a suitable value.`

There are such scripts I haven't tested them tho so I can't recommend any, mc_8's protect op could help (http://mc.purehype.net:81/script_info.t ... protectops) I guess, but maybe some others would be better for you, ie:

As you can see above my botnet was 0wned by another net although this was just a test it showed how weak my net was

I had settings +revengebot 3 +revenge +stopnethack and my bet was 0wned.
Is their any script out there that will prevent this from happening?
