1.7 is a long way off completion. It is a total re-write, to get rid of badly created code, workarounds, inablities and genral sloppyness from the past.

And if you know eggdrop, you would know what a feat this will be.

This support was talked about, as an adition to the new eggdrop 1.7 series, as a netowrk filter. 1.7 will have network/socket filters, that allow a plugin style system, to operate on the buffer on receive and send, allowing proxy based connection, encryption, compression and so on.

However, 1.7 is experimental, is in heavy re-coding, and doesn't currently have this feature. People discourage the use of 1.6 CVS versions on production bots, and eggdrop 1.7 isn;t reconended for alpha, let alone beta testing.

Does eggdrop support socks5 proxy connections?
I need this because of the lack of vhosts of my shell, and I have some proxies that need authentication (a.k.a. Login and Password) or they won't let the connection to ocurr. How can I make eggdrop send the l/p to the proxy?
