You can't change bot type flags while they are linked.

Could someone please tell me why?

I've done this:

at hubbot:
.+bot leafbot
.chattr leafbot +aof
.botattr leafbot +s


at leaf:
.+bot hubbot host:port
.chattr hubbot +aof
.botattr hubbot +ps
.botattr hubbot +h

all works exept channel specified flags :/
