Hi - thanks for your offer...yup I am willing to pay some kind of amount for the script (again within reason ) bascially I'd like to have the headlines sourced from this CBS Marketwatch page:

http://cbs.marketwatch.com/news/newsfin ... iteid=mktw

and either display in the following way in the channel:
checks the page every x mins and posts the latest headline, or ideally constantly check and only post to channel when a new headline is there (don't know if that's possible?)

The format I'd pick first if possible is: all of these appear in the line of each headline as you'll see in that website above. With a customizable color output too please =)

Some kind of !cbs command would be usefull too, but I'm not too worried about that as I have another script that does that for CNN.
Basically I'm using this as a breaking news source for my financial news channel, so the faster the news is sent to the channel, the better!

I don't run the channel for profit, indeed I don't make any money out of it - I'm just trying to provide a good service for investors & news freaks - so if the script is all cool and I do make a payment to someone, it's in good faith that they would be able to assist me in any changes the website might make in the immediate future...?

I tried to get reuters.tcl and got 404 Not Found

If you're serious about paying some, I'll write it for you lol. I've never tried this before (charging) so I don't know what to do. Do you have a paypal account or something? I could write the script, show you in a channel on my own bot, then send you the script after I get payment? I dunno hehe.

Oh, you'd have to say what all you want it to do. Do you just want it to display the first 5 headlines or something, one per line?

I'm not advertising for ppslim (though he is the tcl guru) or stdragon, but I personally dispise doing html parsing via tcl. I spent so long patching murf's weather script when they changed up wunderground.. string this string that *starts trying to count chars on his screen* string this2; What a nightmare.

Hi

Have posted this in a previous message, but it was at the bottom and may not have been seen.

I'm trying to alter an existing Reuters news script to point to a different site and retrieve the headlines in a similar way. The reason is because Reuters redesigned their site and no longer provide the breaking news page where the script points to. I've made my own attempts, but I'm still new at this...

The script I want to adjust is at:

http://www.citinews.net/reuters.tcl

and the page I want to retrieve the news from is:

http://cbs.marketwatch.com/news/newsfin ... iteid=mktw

I'm not worried about the !reuters request command in the script, I just use the timer to post headlines in my channel every x minutes.

If anyone is able to help me nut this out, I'd really appreciate it!
