You should never use eggdrop as root!!

If you are getting permission denied error, then you need to resolve your permission settings to programs.

My personal time doesn't come into this. What I discribed above, was a fact. The fact that for free, we are expected to run a tachnical support service, for those that simply can't be bother configuring there systems correctly. We try to do our best doing this, even answering questions, somtimes beyond our scope.

However, it doesn't help, and only make you look an idiot, when you expect answers from us, as if it's our paid job.

If you had a shell account, and you asked this question to the tech support address. Would you have expected this answer in this time?
Yes. I would have.

Now change the question to "Would you have got an answer in that time"?
The answers is a likely no.

Changing it again, "Would you have obtained a satisfactory answer, on your first attempt".
I get the feeling your in the 1 in 20 requests, for first time reselution.

If you so wish a answer that quick, you may fuind it quicker to use a IRC help channel. Eggdrop related channels and networks are listed within the documentation, and channels like #linuxhelp, and distrobution related channles (#redhat, #suse) will help with this as well.

But again, remember that people are not dedicating there time to your personal needs, and certainly not to answer in the time it takes to type a sentance. As the EFnet moto goes "It's a privilage, not a right".

Yout slim make lough alot... What i asked for was a simple thing.... But i did use my one brain to find it out.... I just need to logg on as root....
and i dont care about your life sitiation...

7 1/2 hours. That is seriously lame.

If any1 expects an answer from any on this forum, let alone in under 12 hours, then they are in the wrong place.

I will be happy to work heavily with you, for a fee, through which you will get my undevided attention, and I will work until I either pay you back, or the problem is solved.

We don't get paid, we have our own lives, we have jobs, family and the rest of the whole "Have a life" thing. We don't sit around and dedicate our time to your personal entertainment. As it's allways been said "You get what you oay for".

I'm setting up Eggdrop on my server, but when doing ./configure, I get the message "permission denied". I'm using Mandrake Linux 9. I've tried all sorts of stuff, but it doesn't work. I don't know what's wrong. Please help!
