Channel names are allowed to contain just about anything except whitespace. So, i don't see a reason why eggdrop shouldn't be able to join such a channel, except that you are giving it the wrong (in eggdrop terms) name. Try sending the channel name to the bot via IRC /msg and have bot save it somewhere.
