Ban for port scanning

If you have a firewall that keeps log files or something like that, you could make a script that periodically reads it and sees if there is a new entry for port scanning.

Hi, is it possible to make bot detect who scans it on ports? I've been looking for such script and I haven't found so far. If it's possible, I'd like to know how it should be done. If someone knows about such script, I'd be grateful.
