The next step would be to setup some form of small server on the system, and see if a client portion will connect to it.

IE, download a small web-server (EG tinyhttpd), and try and connect to it through a web-browser.

I was with the 99% with a modem on my ethernet card when I was on cable. Now I work with an USB modem (Alcatel SpeedTouch USB).

There may be many things that have chnaged in your setup.

99% of cable connections are direct fromt he cable outlet, into the modem, which converts the conection into a standard ethernet connection.

In DSL, this can be the same, but a lot of setup's are not.

What equipment do you use to connect the DSL line to your computer. Do you use a modem and router (combination or seperate), or do you use a USB/PCI card modem?

The situation is this. A year ago, when I was on cable, our channel was shut down. Now, a year later, it is we opened the channel again, the same channel on the same server. The only thing that has changed is that I switched to adsl, and yes that's another ISP. When I was on cable as well as I am on adsl I have a dynamic ip.
I have changed my ip in the bot. At this moment there are only two bots on the channel, the other bot is on the same provider and has the same problem.
I use dynamic DNS (dns2go) to logon to the bots, and to link them, and in my config file because I have a dynamic ip. Another thing: I use eggdrop for windows.

You say you can not telnet "anymore". This indicates that you could at one time? Have you switched ISP recently? If so have you added your new IP to your profile IN the bot? This MAY explain your problem, but as far as the other bots having trouble too....did THEY start having problems the same time that YOU did? If so, pretty much safe to say something in that bot has changed.

Hello.

Since I am on adsl I can't telnet my bot anymore, neither can the other bots on the channel, which makes a botnet impossible.
First when I log on I get the following message in the bot:
Telnet connection: 167.48-136-217.adsl.skynet.be/1881
Nothing happens on my telnet prog (Putty) and after a long time I get this message in the bot:
Lost connection while identing [167.48-136-217.adsl.skynet.be/1881]

What could that be?
