I do not have access to a system, that allows me to ping.

I do not exactly have a proper test system either.

SO I am unable to provide any code at this time.

And there is a little thing called patients.

You could allways try it yourself.

One thing to definatly look at is to "set a [exec ping host.name]"

Then look through it, using the foreach and split commands (split is at \n).

how do i get results ? (not like "putlog" if i do eval...)

This is not possible in native Tcl.

You can download packages that will give you the ability to do ICMP and more socket functions.

However, another method using [exec] and some input parsing, would do the trick.
