AKA, there will just be no support for a user to perform the commands on IRC though, just through the partyline.
Statistics: Posted by ppslim — Fri Aug 09, 2002 5:06 am

A user can still be a halfop, no matter what. Halfops can still use the bot to preform some commands ops can.

Wcc
Statistics: Posted by Wcc — Thu Aug 08, 2002 7:26 pm

On some newer IRC networks / servers, there is a new channel mode called half-op.

This mode is the half way between OP (+o) and voice (+v).

With +h you are allowed to voice users, kick users, ban users. But you can't deop, kick or ban other half-ops or OPS.

Most of my eggdrop work is either served from memory, or dug up on demand. So I don't know if there it is possible to use the half-op support for any other reason on other network (99% sure it can't be used, seeing as it requires the +h channel mode).
Statistics: Posted by ppslim — Thu Aug 08, 2002 11:34 am

curious about halfop functionality and purpose on irc, werks fine for me but I would like to understand why it's being implemented was +v not enough? Is there some underlying purpose to it that the general puplic is not aware of? I've found plenty on adding it and peeps not being able to make it work but I cant seem to find anything on "purpose" fer once Im bitchin cause there aint no hype...bah..it's only my second cup o tea today so please forgive me...early morn and lack of tea makes the tao vague in me....
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Thu Aug 08, 2002 11:26 am
