Even with blocking ICMP you can still be flooded... blocking ICMP really doesn't do that much to protect you.

Either way, uptime.mod used UDP, not ICMP ... so you need to allow UDP through your firewall. You can have dynamic ips .. you can change your bot's nick. Other than that, there isn't much to getting a bot on uptime.eggheads.org

The only rules is do not try and cheat.

I do not know about dynamic IP's affecting it, allthough, this is a possibility.

It can take up to a day for any bots to be displayed.

i've justed noticed that the one bot that was showing up isn't anymore ... that bot is hosted on a machine with a dynamic IP address ... i guess that you have to have a fixed ip .... is there somewhere i can get all of the "rules" :p ?

I believe you need to allow ICMP packets throuhg the firewall/router for this to work.

Bot's with uptimes of over 3 days will be included, but marked as untrustworthy.

hi, i've recently added the uptime module to all of my bots but only one of them seems to be updating it's time .... the one directly connected to internet (no masqerade) and no firewall, what settings should i enable to get round this pb ?
