eggdrop 1.6.10 /msg command doesn´t work. need help

Please read other topics on the forum regarding this.

It has been answered countless times.

A search for "can't dcc" brings out at least 4 from a quick scan of the list.

Bot works now fine. I have found an Hybrid7 Server for Efnet and now join in my channel and answer on the /msg request- Have an other problem now: My bot doesn´t allow a DCC Chat

Are you sure have made sure there is a # infront of the unbind line for the hello command.

Another method to get identified is to telnet to the port setup in the config file. Use "new" as your username, then instructions will be given.

have you edited your $owner in your configfile ?
I do hope that you know to change "botname"

have changed the Server, Bot join this Server"irc.matrix-network.org:6667" and joins the channel(yeah), but not answer to the /msg command. What is that for an [censored]????

You should simply be able to use your old windrop config file, with only the changes required to make use of the *nix filesystem.

Once this is done, try again.

Also check that you have done the "channel add" lines correectly

Other things to note. Free shells can sometimes be the cause of problems.

i have killed the bot and then all the files. Start new the bot with eggdrop -mn eggdrop.conf and the bot doesn´t answer me. The bot joins only to the irc server and not 2 the channel. Have fine running an Windrop egg with no probs but these eggdrop bot robs my nervs.

make sure to kill the bot.. then remove your user,chan,note and pid fil.. and then start the bot with "./eggdrop -mn yourconfigfile.conf"
check in putty or whatever you are using that the bot says "joining channel etc etc"... then check mirc (or what ever) an type "/msg your-bots-nick hello"
This should work...

2 the bot, don´t have telnet access. The bot will not anwser for me. i´m more and more angry over this [censored] with the bot.

Bot is running on titanix free shell

is your configfile named eggdrop.conf ?

And look under that last line that you pasted.. There should be a msg on what LINE the error accourd.. Past that too and maybe we can help ya..
