Didn't notice we had a new forum so only logged on just now. And then to start with reading this very sad news I don't even know what to write.. This is a big loss for our community but that's nothing in proportion to the people who now miss a beloved family member / close friend. My deepest heartfelt condolences to all people who bonded with him during his life.

This also brings clarity why he never got back to me anymore after our last conversation on IRC. I will end this forum post with some advise he gave me while he was helping me out with some Icecast2 script.

Our condolences to "Mrs Spike" from Preacher and Swift -

Back in 2006 we used one of Spikes scripts to set up a free trivia room for people to play in. Spike helped us a lot and up to a couple of years ago, used to pop into our room to say hi. The last time he visited he stayed for at least 4 days – said he forgot he was there lol but he was always welcome

He will be missed

I am very shocked and sad to hear this news that SpiKe has passed away. He was one of the greatest contributor to eggdrop and tcl. His trivia script is one of the best eggdrop tcl script developed by himself. Rest In Peace SpiKe and heart felt condolences to his wife.

Spike^^^ was the former owner of this forum. And the TCL Archive, too. Not sure who owns the archive now...

He was ALWAYS friendly, and most helpful, when contacted. He's helped me, many times.

But perhaps his lasting IRC legacy will be BogusTrivia. It would impossible to calculate all the hours that so many, many players of trivia on IRC have racked up, enjoying the game that he created. Just think of it ...

I am sorry to say SpiKe passed away on Nov 8th 2023 from a long battle with
cancer. I am his wife and as far as I know that was the only script he
released for the earthquake. Most likely the site that provided the
information for the earthquakes changes and that is why it does not respond.
You might try posting on the forum and someone else may be willing to make
it work again.
